How to tell the masseuse to increase or decrease pressure in your massage

When going to the spa, it’s completely normal to be a little shy about things at first. You just lie there and stay quiet and wait for the masseuse to come in. When the massage starts and everything gets going you realize something, “wait a minute, why does this hurt? Ouch! Make it stop!” If these thoughts have been running through your head during a massage, it’s about time you learned how to speak up and tell your masseuse exactly what it is that you want for your massage. Chances are, you aren’t quite used to the amount of pressure applied to your body when you don’t go for massages quite often. You don’t have to lay there in agony and wait till your massage finishes. If you can’t quite take the pressure, you can politely ask your masseuse or therapist to maybe slow things down a little and ease up on the pressure. As long as you say it in a polite manner, they will not take offense to it. And as a matter of fact, they might even appreciate your gesture by letting them know what they are doing wrong. This way, you and your therapist will be happy as you walk away with a very satisfying and relaxing massage. Your therapist, on the other hand, will feel fulfillment by knowing that he or she has helped another person unwind and release their stress. So don’t be shy, speak up! You will definitely have a better experience by doing this.
