Med Spa Treatment Winners and Losers in Customer Satisfaction

Article by Racheline Maltese

Some procedures with the most dramatic results, like Botox or lip-plumping injections, do provide instant results but also need to be repeated frequently, which costs time and money. Additionally, these procedures aren’t painless, and while they do provide dramatic results, they don’t address the underlying issues that necessitated them. When one stops treatments of this nature, the result wear off quickly. So unless you want to commit to a long-term regimen of treatments, these options may not offer you the most long-term satisfaction.

Long-term satisfaction tends to come with procedures that have long-term results and address issues of key emotional importance. Unwanted hair removal by laser is one area where satisfaction is high. These laser treatments aren’t right for everyone, but for some people, these treatments are a long-awaited and welcome solution.

While some people get laser hair removal treatments for convenience to avoid the drudgery of waxing or shaving their legs, some women get the treatment for dark facial hair on the upper lip or cheek that is generally considered unsightly. For many of these women, other treatments have been painful, ineffective or required too much maintenance. Laser treatments, which often successfully reduce or eliminate unwanted hair, boost confidence and eliminate wasted time, money and energy looking for other solutions.

Facial rejuvenation procedures also have high satisfaction rates, because the results are less dramatic but build over time and are part of a regimen of maintaining skin that healthy as well as healthy looking.

Satisfaction with medical spa procedures comes, however, now from the procedures themselves, but from what you hope to achieve. Procedures that are well researched are always going to lead to higher levels of satisfaction thanks to realistic expectations and the satisfaction of a long-term desire. Medical spa treatments decided on the fly – such as Botox at a Botox party – may not result in the same levels of happiness, because they don’t necessarily address an ongoing need or concern.

The best way to ensure satisfaction from your medical spa procedures is to avoid acting on impulse and be sure you are comfortable with the procedure you want, the facility where you will get it and the practitioner you’ll be dealing with. Know what to expect the day of treatment, during healing and over time. Be aware of when and why the treatment may need repeating. Minimizing surprises is the best way to be thrilled with the procedures you choose.
