4 Types of Massages That You Should Try When Visiting a Spa

Visiting the spa for a massage is probably a given, and most people either opt for a deep tissue or Swedish massage.

However, it’s a good idea to try something new every now and then. So, here are 4 types of massages that you should try when visiting the spa:

#1: Hot Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is one with smooth stones that have been heated in water and is usually the best option for a massage in winter. While it does take a substantial amount of skill to use these stones but it warms up body tissue while being deeply relaxing.

#2: Lava Shell Massage

Put simply, it’s probably one of the most relaxing massages that you can enjoy. The massage therapist uses highly polished shells which remain hot for almost an hour. Best part, the massage therapist doesn’t have to change these shells very often.

#3: Shiatsu

This type of massage was developed in Japan and is usually carried out on a mat which is placed on the floor. The objective of this type of massage is to restore the flow of energy throughout the body with the use of finger pressure.

#4: Aromatherapy Massage

Similar to a Swedish massage, the only difference is that essential oils are added to the massage oil itself. It goes without saying that these oils are not only therapeutic for both body and mind but they also release a beautiful fragrance. Almost always, the massage therapist will take the oil in their hands and position them under your nose so that you can inhale the wonderful scent that these wonderful essential oils offer.
