Destination Spas – An Introduction

A destination spa, in comparison to resort spas, focuses on all aspects of one’s health. Resport spas don’t do this but offer leisure activities such as golf and tennis along with the usual spa treatment.

Of course, another unique aspect of destination spas is that you have to stay for a minimum of two days and three nights where one would enjoy healthy cuisine, run through an entire routine of fitness or stress reduction, benefit from spa treatments as well as benefit from educational lectures on improving one’s habits.

While the food served as these destination spas have health-based objectives such as weight loss and calorie restriction and so on and so forth, the best part about this type of spas would be meeting like-minded people who are also interested in improving their health.

Since these spas only take a small number of guests, it’s not such a bad idea to visit these spas by yourself as well. There are a number of activities that will help the group to get to know each other – hiking, taking exercise classes and even eating together at the same table.

Best part: the staff-to-guest ratio is high and you’ll find that they are enthusiastic and more than willing to provide you with the best service during your stay.

Another advantage of a destination spa is the variety of services, activities and experiences it offers to guest. There is choice in terms of settings, price and size as well.

While some of them can accommodate 60 guests at a time, others can manage as many as 250. Prices vary between a few hundred dollars a night to almost $8000 for the week.
